"The student and I worked on sectors and segments of a circle with varying degree measures. We will continue to work on finding the triangle to subtract from the sector to equal the segment."
"We worked on review packet- angles, area, similar triangles. The student has a good grasp of the concepts."
"We finished up a practice test that the student had started working on herself. After completing that we went over past topics that will appear on her final exam. She is doing a great job remember past topics and is a very quick learner."
"The student and I spent time working through math packets to prepare for her upcoming final. She had a good understanding of how to complete the simple problems, but as they got more complex and required multiple steps to find the answer, she was having trouble determining the strategy she should use. I suggested writing down the overall goal, then identifying what she does know and what she needs to know to solve the problem."
"The student and I spent the first 15 minutes or so going over some issues that he had with his previous homework assignments. The problems were some of the more challenging problems in the homework sets, and with questioning, he was able to execute them all. We spent the remainder of the session completing his review packet for the final exam. This included review of special right triangles and SOHCAHTOA. I encouraged him to memorize these, and then immediately at the beginning of the final exam, write them on the top of his paper. As usual, he was highly engaged and motivated to do well."
