Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"On Monday, we covered the topic of Newton's law of gravitation involving two masses and the distance between them. The student had an assignment that had six problems over this concept. The problems were challenging, but with my help, the student was able to get through them and understand how to solve for a planet's gravity given its mass as well as how to solve for their gravitational force. We also worked on some precalculus which involved simple trig problems finding the value of an angle using the unit circle. She had no issues with her precalculus."
"The student and I worked on more advanced examples of Newton's 2nd law today, along with integrating them with vector and free body diagram concepts. She did very well and showed a good development of understanding over the course of the session. She has problems from her teacher to work on to prepare her for her upcoming test."
"The first student had science homework over mechanical advantage and efficiency of simple machines. The problems were taking him some time but he was doing very well on them. The second student has a math test this Friday, however she completed her homework assignment without errors and with complete mastery of the concepts. She just needs to review definitions and I believe she will do well on the test."
"The student and I reviewed mathematics and chemistry. For math, we reviewed adding, subtracting, and multiplying out polynomials. She did a great job, and I expect her to perform really well on her upcoming exam. We also reviewed chemistry, where we went over atomic masses and numbers. She seems to have a strong grasp over this material as well."
"The student and I reviewed subjects in science that are going to be on her exam tomorrow. She is going over matter, chemical/physical properties and changes, atoms, elements, and subatomic particles. She seems to be improving in both her conceptual knowledge and her confidence in herself. It is getting easier to work with her because she is becoming more outgoing, confident, and willing to learn. I think we are making good progress!"
"The student and I reviewed the following topics: Ideal Gas Law, kinetic energy of a gas, root mean square, Boyle's Law, and Graham's Law. They did practice problems involving taking ratios of equations to solve for unknowns and cancel constants. We discussed the average molecular weights of mixtures and how to calculate them."
