"The student and I met to prepare for her upcoming test and discussed using integrals to calculate volume for solids of revolution and convergence of series and sequences. I think we were able to make the material make better sense to her, she just needs more practice."
"Today, we worked on her homework that's due tomorrow, which includes adding, subtracting and multiplying functions. In addition, we worked on substituting numbers into various functions before adding them. The student was able to solve the simpler problems easily, but had a little trouble when it came to complex functions with a lot of separate parts. After finishing her homework, I gave her a lot of similar problems such as those on her homework to prepare her for her next quiz."
"I helped the student with several problems in his multivariable calculus homework: set up the formula for calculating the volume of a solid using a triple integral, changing the order of integration in a triple integral, showing that a piece-wise function of two variables is not differentiable at a point, and finding the area of the surface of intersection of two perpendicular cylinders using double integrals."
"Today I focused with the student on reviewing his multiplication facts x3. He knew most of them, but still needs to practice x6, x7, x8, and x9. We will continue to work on these. Our activities included flashcards, timed practice, and multiplication bingo."
"The student has a quiz tomorrow on adding and subtracting fractions. We reviewed how to use fraction strips for adding fractions with unlike denominators. He is fantastic at solving addition and subtraction problems with unlike and like denominators, so as long as he is careful on this upcoming quiz, I believe he will do well."
"The student is really starting to pick up her fact fluency. I encouraged her to continue to practice her facts daily in order to improve her fluency. We are still working with sight words. She has officially learned 40 sight words! We are working on the next set of sights words that I will test her on this Friday and I am quite confident that she will master them!"
