Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I met only for an hour today. His class is done with new material and is beginning to review for the AP exam. We discussed a few past AP questions assigned to him and he seems to recall the topics as we discuss them."
"We had an excellent session over exponential functions and transformation of graphs. While on the subject of compound interest, we discussed the significance of compound interest and the importance of saving early and how it translates to financial independence. The student did a few examples of section 4.1 and we watched video over this section as well. We are meeting again on Wednesday to review logarithm."
"Today we completed the second half of the long division worksheet. The student was very focused. We began reading chapter 6 material for economics and next week hope to finish the reading and worksheets for chapter 6 economics."
"Today we finished reviewing chapter 6 concepts for the student's test tomorrow. We mostly covered implicit differentiation, some calculator tips and reviewed tangent line equations. He was struggling the most with plugging values into the calculator, and that was the one thing I advised for him to be careful of while taking the exam. I would like to receive his score on this test that he's about to take and possibly have a session with him tomorrow if he had any questions about problems he saw on the test. I feel confident that he thoroughly understands the concepts in chapter 6 and should perform well on the test."
"We covered the differences between an instantaneous rate of change and an average rate of change. We also covered what the derivative represented. Afterwards, I left the student with practice of graphing piecewise functions in Excel."
"The student is just starting on integrals. We went over integrals and antiderivatives and reviewed the trig functions. I also gave her some homework to do from the antiderivative and definite integral sections."
