Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I had a review of linear regression against one and two independent exploratory variables as well as implementation of the same in Excel. We did a review of a home-work assignment and midterm examination problems relevant to linear regression."
"The student and I had a very good first session working together! I started out by helping him finish the conclusion of his science lab report. He did a very good job, but I helped him to add more detail, and to come up with a real-life example. I then gave him a head start on how to write scientific notation, as it can be kind of tricky. I also helped him practice exponents, and made sure that he knew all of the rules for working with exponents. I can tell that he is a very committed and exacting student. "
"The student and I had a very good first session, we covered some math and history. There is a lot that we need to get done because she needs help with comprehension. The only way that is going to get done is teaching her a good method of digesting material."
"The student and I had a wonderful session today. She got a 90% on the test we studied for last week. I am so proud of her and her work ethic. She tries very hard! Today, we studied for her test on Friday. We reviewed how to compare negative numbers (determining which number is bigger). We reviewed long division/multiplication with decimals and fractions. She got a little mixed up during her last test on how to plot negative numbers on a number line so we cleared up her confusion. We also did some practice problems on order of operations. I think she will do very well on her test!"
"The student and I had our first session of the year! We started on pre-calc. We worked on functions and identifying values/intercepts/positive/negative behavior. We then worked on piece wise functions. We also covered even and odd functions. Great work and focus!"
"The student and I have met for two sessions to cover her problem sets for her quantitative reasoning course. The sessions have gone well, I think, and I am confident that the student grasps the concepts and how to deal with the problems well. In particular, we have focused on parsing word problems into the mathematics relationships they express."
