Mission Viejo, CA Physiology tutoring
The student is preparing for his physics test covering angular motion, moment of inertia, torque, angular momentum, and friction. We worked through problems related to using Newton's second law for rotational motion, calculating cross products and using them to determine torque and angular momentum, and using conservation of energy and work for rolling objects. He felt more confident about each of these concepts by the end. We will still review more problems related to that during our next session.

In the session, we continued our coverage of the Economic Policy book and focused on Chapter 11. The student sent me the material ahead of time (earlier during the day), and I was able to read the chapter in order to prepare for the session. The topics included why the government should be involved in education, how the government is involved in education, and solving the crowd-out problem via vouchers. We went over the problems in the textbook, and they were challenging enough that they took our whole time. The problems can be challenging to understand, and the right answer might come from different parts of different chapters. We were able to go over most problems, and the student left with a satisfying feeling that we did some hard work.

I included the strategy of how to find the components of a force within radial and circumferential coordinates. She has a better intuition of how to set up the problem.
