Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed packet on thermochemistry and discussed elementary reactions. Also discussed body force systems and Atwood machines in physics. Spent some time discussing the student's designs for a nitrogen liquefaction process."
"The student and I discussed some of the basic quantum physics he's been working on. We discussed transitions between discrete energy levels and how this equates to wavelengths of emitted photons. He grasps this information very easily, and understands the consequences of having a quantized system versus a continuous one."
"This session with this student occurred amidst a stretch in which she was finishing robotics project in addition to juggling Chinese and history exams that took her most of her time. However, she is a trooper and has been able to rise above the conditions."
"The student and I studied a new topic today, combined/ net/ resultant force vectors, and worked on incline and lawnmower physics problems. The practice went well."
"The student and I reviewed some earlier material, mostly on heat transfer. Her class didn't go into much detail on the math, mostly talking about the types of heat transfer and their qualitative differences, so we looked at the basic math of heat transfer and discussed the different types and their applications."
"This was a good first session. The student is working on rotational motion, but we also did some review of problems he had from before. I emphasized dimensional analysis and also practicing through doing problems as the best ways to succeed in physics."
