"The students and I worked on their Spanish homework from Unit 2. Student 1 and I worked for about 20 minutes on two of her class notebook assignments. The work focused on translation and reading comprehension. She excelled at the exercises both in the fluidity of her pronunciation and her ability to translate. One thing from which she might benefit is writing complete sentences, and we will work on this aspect next time she and I work on Spanish homework. Student 2 and I focused on grammar. We covered demonstrative adjectives and reflexive verbs. Working from a chart I created for him during our previous session, he completed a series of online exercises asking him to identify the proper demonstrative adjective. He excelled on this exercises. Subsequently, I gave him a short lesson and accompanying chart on reflexive verbs. He proceeded to complete problems online. He did well on these problems, and next week we will continue to focus on the verbs' usage."
"We spent half of the lesson practicing new vocab based on the book the student is reading in Spanish class. We spent the second half doing a comprehensive review of the tenses. He showed a lot of progress in the time we worked on it."
"Today we talked about Latin American food. We watched the video about different types of foods in Los Angeles, and then we answered questions about the video and talked about our favorite food and favorite restaurants."
"Today, The student and I reviewed the conditional and its usage to express unlikely situations and its usage in "if" clauses. She seems to be doing much better with the grammar rules. We had a great session today! I did not see any grades, but she said that she thought her paper that was due last week went well."
"The student and I prepared for his three quizzes that he will take tomorrow. We worked on words related to art, emotions, as well as e->ie stem changers. He also worked on his reading comprehension skills by reading a short passage that I brought."
"Today the student and I worked on equal and unequal comparisons, question words, possessive pronouns, personal and physical characteristics, family vocab, ser and estar, and sentence construction."
