Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This week we worked on using angle relationships to find the measure of angles and variables. We worked with complementary, supplementary, and vertical Angles. We also worked on combining like terms and solving equations. The student has completed 8% of his Algebra in Plato. We discussed working only in Unit 1 in Plato. If he comes to something he does not understand, then we will cover it in tutoring."
"This week, he and I worked on absolute value problems as per his assigned homework. He stated that his last test was "challenging," but I am confident in his abilities. I am sure he did very well! It's always a pleasure to work with a student who is as highly motivated as him."
"Today I cover circle and related theorems as per the student's request. The student seems positive towards the material. I gave him a detailed concept throughout the exercise and left him with extra practice work."
"Today the student and I covered the rest of unit 3 and began covering unit 4. We focused on determining the area of parallelograms and triangles. We also practiced solving for unknown heights of figures. He has continued to work hard, and continues to make good grades!"
"Today the student and I practiced proofs over and over again until he started to become more fluid in them. He had the problem of being able to recognize how to break down a proof last week and just how many steps to have/include. He has already vastly improved, and I found a resource for him to practice on his own. I think he is on the right track to be able to complete proofs on his own."
"Today the student and I reviewed Chapter 2.1 and went over Chapter 2.2. She missed class today because of a field trip, so she wanted to make sure she understood Chapter 2.2. I asked her to explain to me conditional statements, converse statements, inverse statements, and contrapositives. She understands how to write them; it's just a matter of understanding how to decide whether they are true or false. She is very smart and a very strong student. With practice, she will get a really good grade."
