Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on point-slope intercept and graphing. The student was a little confused from the last time we worked, but it was a minor problem. After a few minutes, he was able to recall the method and formulas we used. He was able to successfully complete the problems. I think he is getting the knack of the concept."
"We worked on solving inequalities to solidify the student's understanding of what her class is covering. She showed tremendous improvement over the last week. To solve inequalities that had fractions, we introduced the concept of multiplying by the reciprocal."
"We worked on solving system of linear equation via different methods, including by graphing, by substitution, and by elimination. The student struggled with the concepts, but by the end of the session the student was able to apply all three methods. The student need to be careful with plus and minus signs during calculations."
"We worked on solving systems of equations by graphing and substitution. The student was very receptive and smart; it was a pleasure working with him. The student's goal was to just make sure he stays proficient in the class material. We plan to meet again on Thursday."
"We worked on the chapter homework of point-slope form. The student became much better when we set up several steps, which is finding the slope, putting the point, as well as the slope back into the formula. In addition, we went over graphing and decided the main method to be used for graphing. She is now able to finish all the problems correctly by herself."
"We worked on the student's homework and reviewed some of the problems that she'd gotten wrong on previous homework assignments. Most of her mistakes were detail-oriented, so she needs to work on slowing down and making sure she's not making small mistakes."
