Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student completed her assignment on exponential, logarithm, and integration by part integrations. We spent the majority of the time finding a logical method to determining which functions should be the u and dv. We also reviewed the tabular method. She needs to remember the fundamentals in simplifying the integrals before using these tricks, but showed great improvement!"
"The student and I worked on concepts related to rational functions including evaluating and solving. The lesson focused heavily on solving proportions. We worked on setting up proportions by looking at both pictures and reading word problems. He was very quick to understand the various methods of reading a word problem to understand how to set the proportion up correctly. He easily understood how to solve proportions as well. He completed the quiz associated with his section and received a 100%. As always, he had a great attitude during the session."
"The student had a review that we worked through. He needed some clarification on how to solve systems of ODEs and also in solving some first order ODE using separation of variables and the general linear technique. We also did some problems with matrix eigenvalues to solve the systems. He did much better on these after we discussed them."
"We covered chi-squared, linear regression, least squared residuals, Type 1 & 2 Error, and power. The student's attitude towards reviewed materials was good, and he didn't hesitate to ask specific questions about concepts that he wasn't understanding, which was good. I helped him with strategies for the AP test, such as paying close attention to the question as well as formulating a full and complete response. I left him with some online resources so that he could seek out more AP test help, as that is what he was studying for. The student is doing very well and catching onto concepts very easily."
"The student and I completed aspects of exact values with trig functions. We also confirmed foundation of unit circle, reference angles, and hand diagram exercises to find trig functions quickly through practice problems."
"We covered simplifying and solving rational expressions, properties of logarithms, simplifying and expanding logarithms, and working with exponential equations. The student was very quick to pick up everything we worked on. I told him to selected problems from 5.1 in his book for extra practice."
