"We went through 6 practice problems on nodal voltage and mesh current methods. We clarified some doubts on choosing polarities on the voltage drop. The student has made great progress on using nodal voltage method and finding power even for more complicated circuits."
"We went through Chapters 4 - Chapter 5. We reviewed yesterday's worksheet that I had created for the student. There were a few concepts that she needs to review, but overall, she's doing really well. Tomorrow, we will be going through Chapters 6, 7, and 13. The plan is for us to go through enough material so that we can complete the past exams/practice exams that the professor has posted to his course website."
"We went through several kinematic and vector problems. The student needed practice adding vectors to find total displacement, so we talked about finding components and adding them, then using them to find the angle. For the projectile problems, he has the equations memorized, so we talked about the "ins and outs" of applying them to the problems. He should remember to write out the equation he wants to try, then think about what each variable represents and whether he knows it or needs to find it. Drawing a figure is also a great way to start a problem. If he does these two things, then I think he will do well."
"We went through the homework set, and the student finished all the problems. Topics included Normal and Shear Stress on a face, and bearing stress. I outlined the general flow for problem solving, and helped him to visualize the problems in 2D space, to simplify the question. The student is struggling with the statics portion of this class (he is currently in strengths of materials, not statics), so I encouraged him to try additional practice problems to practice setting up free body diagrams. He is very good at finding efficient ways to approach the problems."
"We went through the introduction chapter of chemistry: matters and changes, since she will study chemistry next semester. We went through definitions of different ideas and did some practice multiple choice questions. Then we covered a little bit of scientific measurement and data reporting."
"We went through the student's current assignments for his online course, specifically correlations (Spearman's rho test) and multiple linear regression. We were able to successfully share the screen to work through the different tests and help interpret the data."
