Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was my second session with the student. He was assigned an independent school entrance diagnostic test to work on. I have assigned him the remaining sections (essay and math achievement) to work on as homework. I graded the work he did do, and he did well on verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and reading comprehension. He needs to complete his math. We went over the problems he did do and he will need to review rules of triangles. I've assigned him new vocabulary to work on, and have asked him to put post-it notes near his bed, on his desk, and on the mirror of his restroom to help review vocabulary words and definitions. I'll be sending him another diagnostic to work on."
"This was our first session so I introduced the different sections of the test and gave the student some general strategies. We worked briefly on verbal and reading comprehension, but we largely focused on math. We worked through a multiple choice math section so I could get a sense of what he needed to work on, and then I went over how to calculate percents and a couple of related topics with him."
"The student is an extremely intelligent and articulate boy. We covered the basics structure for completing a persuasive placement exam essay. He was focused and highly creative. I did see a sample writing of his which enabled me to diagnose some errors and eradicate them."
