Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"-Covered the evaluation of electric fields at centers of symmetric polygons, calculations of circuit parameters: current, total resistance, and voltage."
"The student and I reviewed his science homework and flash cards. He is doing very well with his school work."
"In this session we went over what we learned last time to make sure the student has a good understanding for it, we also went over the questions I gave her. Then we covered the next part of skeletal muscle contraction by talking about sliding filament theory and excitation-contraction coupling. We also discussed source of energy for skeletal muscles. The student in general struggles with names and mechanisms. She needs to be tutored and then to repeat and practice by her own."
"We went over the student's problem set, which we started at our last session. We went over questions on pH, polarity, structural formulas, and skeletal formulas. We also went over her upcoming lab and what to expect."
"We went over writing chemical equations and net ionic equations, but when the student put the answers we found (which I knew to be correct), her system kept marking them wrong. I wasn't sure how to set up the answers so that the system would accept them, so she is going to meet with her teacher about them. We also went over naming compounds. The student needed some reminders of names, but quickly picked it up."
"We went though theories and introductions about atoms, including the main component of atom (proton, neutron, electron); atomic number and atomic mass; molar mass; the definition of "mole" and Avogadro's number; and relationship of atomic mass and molar mass."
