Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we went over ionic and covalent bonding, the octet role, resonance, exceptions to the octet rule, electronegativity, electron affinity, bone length, and bond energy. The student was attentive throughout our session, and she asked questions for clarification. It was a delight working with her, and I look forward to working with her again soon!"
"Today, we went over problems concerning Coulomb's law, electric fields, and charge distribution. We went over the first free response question talking about the forces between 4 charges in a square. The student was left with the second free response question as practice. She will present answers to the free response question at the start of next session."
"Today, we went over reaction mechanisms. We breezed through the first few sections, including the definitions and the Arrhenius equation. We managed to push through and finish the chapter with a discussion of catalysis."
"Today, we went over some example problems from the end of chapters 2 & 3 from the textbook. The student completed specific examples for vector addition and resolving vectors, 1D motion, and 2D projectile motion. A Google drive folder has been created and the whiteboards from today's session were attached. The video from today's sessions will be uploaded later."
"Today, we worked on dimensional analysis. I taught the student how to set up and work through unit conversion problems. She was even able to master limiting reagent problems in one session. This usually takes much longer to master, so she is doing very well."
"Today, we worked on the basics of thermodynamics, including enthalpy diagrams, heat transfer, calorimetry, and Hess's Law. The student understood the concepts well. We discussed how to better approach math-based problems so she doesn't make simple mistakes. I'm impressed with her progress so far and love her great attitude towards and patience for learning chemistry. We worked on two worksheets today, one on calorimetry and one on Hess's Law. I gave her another worksheet for extra practice if she felt like she needed it."
