Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We mainly went over calculations and concepts in acids and bases, with a few side topics of calculating oxidation number versus formal charge."
"We covered stoichiometry, limiting reagents, and percent yield. The student was able to understand the material and should be fine with more practice."
"This week I reviewed unit conversions with the student and how to convert grams of a substance to moles, molecules, and/or atoms. I also showed him how to calculate empirical formula for a molecule and percent composition. He seemed to understand this material and he communicated to me that he scored very well on his chemistry quiz that he took the previous week."
"Today, we went over calorimetry and other thermodynamics concepts. The student was attentive throughout the session and asked questions for clarification. Her skills in chemistry have improved markedly. It was a pleasure working with her!"
"Today, we went over oxidation reduction reactions and in doing that, we reviewed a slew of topics like single replacement, charges, and net ionic equations. We will meet tomorrow to continue with our final exam review."
"Today, we worked on equilibrium problems in preparation for her exam. I showed her an alternate way to solve the equation to find the equilibrium constant, called the method of successive approximation. She also worked with the quadratic formula, and we looked at problems of the same material that had different given information."
