We had our mini first semester final today. The student did really well. He just had two minor mistakes, which he can correct very easily. He needs to go over the here, there, and over there nouns referring to different things. Overall, his test went very smoothly. He will be starting on his second semester tomorrow. From now, we will be focusing more on Katakana and Kanji, as well as conversation.

We have started Kanji chart #2. We went over how to read them and meanings of each. Since the student learned 40 Kanji from Chart #1, we mixed up some kanji to create/expand new vocabularies. She learns very fast and applies them in the right order. We will continue to learning more Kanji on the next session.

We started with the homework check (homework was great) and moved on to the first of today's many concepts: commands. We also covered how to say "let's," how to say something seems some way, how to say "too+adjective," and finally a different way to talk about ability and inability to do things. We spent about 15 minutes on "free" conversation to practice coming up with things on the spot. The student is a language sponge. I'm amazed.
