"The student and I worked on her homework. One of the problem sets gave us a list of x/y values, a graph and a list of equations. The goal was for us to match each table to a graph and an equation. They were a mixture of lines, exponential functions, and quadratics. The other problem set involved manipulating linear equations from slope-intercept form to standard form. I discussed with her that she would have to remember each type of linear equation and their names as they probably wouldn't be provided on a quiz or test. I didn't have any concerns from the session, as she demonstrated by the end of each problem set that she was getting more comfortable with each of the question sets."
"The student and I worked on his homework for the last section he worked on in class, which was over long division and synthetic division. We also covered the remainder theorem, and we began to review for his test on Thursday by working on the review questions from the book. He should try to re-work previous homework problems and new problems from the book in order to be fully ready for the test."
"The student and I worked on homework for her pre-calculus class. We worked on function composition and combining functions with like variables. Most of the homework is word problems, so they are sometimes tricky questions. I definitely think that she was more comfortable with the material by the end of the lesson. We will continue to work on having her feel confident in her math abilities!"
