"Today the student and I worked on multiplication, addition, and subtraction. We worked several word problems that were multi-step. He really seems to like those types of problems. We are working out of the student's book to help him get ready for testing in January. At that point he can move up to the next level in math. The one area that he has challenges with is rushing. He likes to complete his work in his head and sometimes makes little mistakes. These mistakes can easily be fixed if he slows down and writes out the problem. Moving forward, we will continue going through the book and work on math facts until they are automatic."
"Today the student and I worked on subtraction and fact families. She was very focused and did a great job with her addition in the fact families. We will continue to work on subtraction next week. I left her a fact family homework assignment. "
"Today the student completed his homework, which consisted of adding and subtracting three-digit numbers with regrouping. We also covered map skills, following directions, using commas correctly within an address, fractions, and correcting misspelled words. He learns very quickly. He has a great attitude towards learning. I love working with him."
"Today the student did math homework. He was struggling a bit with rounding and estimating the sum of numbers, but he got better with practice. We worked on adding equations, and he did well with that and with mental math. He has a good attitude and wants to learn."
"Today the student started by completing her homework that she had not done already. We will continue to work on place value. She did very well with one-digit by two-digit multiplication. I introduced two-digit by two-digit multiplication today. We will continue to work on this next week."
"Today the student wanted to work on her language arts skills. More specifically she wanted to work on her cursive handwriting. She said that's what she was working on in class this week. So we spent the hour writing different words in cursive and trying to perfect her writing. She was very excited about it and did a good job. For next week, I told her to find the language arts packet we had worked on previously and continue with that."
