Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I had something of a maintenance session. We reviewed his material he had already completed, and we worked through any areas where he missed a few problems. We worked on easy quadrilateral proofs, and applying midpoint/distance formula to prove the types of quadrilaterals."
"Today we covered three dimensional shapes. She learned how to calculate diagonals through prisms and other shapes. We also reviewed material from previous chapters (which are foundation for 3d shapes). I left her with some practice to do for next time."
"We began with a review of trigonometry, for a quiz that the student has tomorrow. We then continued on to review all of chapter 7 for an upcoming chapter 7 test and cumulative test, both early next week. He was very competent with the new material and worked quickly through the practice problems. We then went over the PAAP and HLLP formulas with similar right triangles in more depth. Other than that, we worked on increasing the speed at which he can identify the correct equation, and then solve."
"We reviewed the student's homework involving number of sides and interior angles of polygons and parallelograms. We needed to review her formulas and theorems for the work, but then she had no trouble completing the work after that."
"I found out the student got a 94% on his last test, with his only errors being negative signs!! We finished his study guide for his chapter 1-2 test, and reviewed the types of problems that would be on it. Overall, he only had trouble with writing equations from word statements. I gave him some additional problems to do on this subject, along with solutions we had already worked out. I don't foresee him having any difficulty with this subject."
"Today was my first session of the new semester with the student. He was able to complete/pass all of his courses and he was excited. We continued to work on Chapter 6 and made good progress by reviewing his homework and looking at his new calendars for the upcoming semester."
