Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we completed the student's Calculus review packet. It covered many topics that were discussed in Pre-Calculus. We completed domain, range, horizontal, and vertical lines, and distance formula. Then, we worked on inverse functions, trigonometric transformations, and evaluated at points on the unit circle."
"Today, we covered some derivative topics in preparation for the student's quiz this week. These topics consisted of the implementation of: the Power Rule, Product Rule, Quotient Rule, Chain Rule, and combinations of them in solving for derivatives. We were able to cover each one and get all of the problem areas straightened out for him. We also covered solving for the equation of tangent and normal lines to a given function at a specified point. He showed proficiency in the material we covered today."
"Today, we covered some lessons on exponential and quadratic functions. We also did some class tests and homework together. I gave the student some materials and handouts for further study. At the end of the session, the student was given some assignments for the next session."
"Today, we covered stretches and shifts in y direction, stretches and shifts in x direction of periodic trig functions. We successfully completed two tests. The student's understanding of the concepts and the ability to use trig functions has greatly improved."
"Today, we covered trigonometric functions, their graphs, and also how to graph them. We went over cosine, sine, and tangent, and their corresponding reciprocal functions. She was having issues graphing the functions, but she understood the concepts rather quickly, and we were able to move on fast. She was very optimistic about the material, and I have no concerns about this session. It was a great session."
"Today, we reviewed concepts from Algebra 2. He had the most trouble with factoring polynomials and solving for the roots of an equation. We also went over graphs of functions, which is what is being currently covered in his class. He has a good understanding of what's happening in class currently. We went over practice problems, but he still needs some more help, so I'll be sending practice sets to him via e-mail."
