"The student has a test tomorrow. We went over her packet on what the test is on. She mostly wanted to practice and go through the process for each type of problem. She asked questions when she was confused, and we made some real headway on the things she was confused by."
"The student has a test Tuesday, so we continued with the practice test, and we worked on filling out her flashcards for her test with some info that would be difficult to memorize."
"The student has a test, and he had a good idea of what we needed to work on. We went through the typical issues associated with scientific notation and with algebraic fractions. He only seemed to have two issues, so we worked to resolve these. First, he needed to simplify his answers in the case of adding algebraic terms with different denominators. He could clear the denominator but then would stop shy of the fully simplified answer. In scientific notation, he was confused about adding numbers that have different powers of ten. I gave him a procedure that worked so he won't get confused on his test."
"The student has a timed test tomorrow, and was concerned about some problems he was not sure how to solve in the most efficient way. Thus, we focused on finding the most efficient way of solving the ones he thought he had most trouble with. We worked out problems involving systems of simultaneous equations, problems where we were asked to find solutions for systems of inequalities, and a couple problems involving factorization. In the end, I noticed how confident the student is, and how prepared he is now for his test tomorrow."
"The student has a unit test on Wednesday, so we spent this session going over the study guide her teacher passed out. The test will cover quadratic equations with unreal roots, and it will focus on finding the roots graphically and symbolically. The student has a good grasp of the material, and she just needed a bit more practice on a couple types of problems. There were also a few terms (e.g., the difference between the factors and the solutions of an expression) that she needed some refreshing on."
"The student has a unit test this Thursday, and a cumulative final exam next Tuesday. We reviewed her quiz, and worked on the problems she had difficulty with for her unit test. We then started working on her review packet for the trimester exam. She had difficulty remembering a few steps and what to do on a few types of problems. However, after I would show her an example, it came back to her. She has to do more practice before she is prepared for her trimester exam. I will be checking in with her at the end of the week to see if she needs more review before the exam."
