MCAT Tutoring review by Avi in Cedar Park, TX
Today we worked through a good example passage on projectile motion. The student has good intuition about what to do, especially as we built off of the last session, during which we also covered projectile motion. She is concerned that she is not learning the material fast enough, but it is still a matter of confidence. When she speaks frankly about a problem, she is able to pull together the correct information. I urged her to do all her physics problems thoroughly, even the simple ones. She must draw a well-labeled diagram for every situation, incorporating vectors, pertinent forces, and mechanical energy.

MCAT Tutoring review by Clara in Cedar Park, TX
This week, the student and I continued our content review. We started with a few non-biology questions about azeotropes and galvanic/voltaic cells. Since he is a physics teacher, he had a great grasp of the science behind these concepts, and we worked through them together. Next, we moved on to biology and talked about muscles. We discussed the structure of a sarcomere (actin, myosin, Z lines, etc.) and finished up with some review of the kidney. Overall, this was a nice session; He has a scientific mind and doesn't have trouble with the test passage format, so I think the content review that we're doing is enough for him to get a very high score. I'm also really excited for next week! We're going to talk about the nervous system and dig a little deeper into the kidney's mechanisms of function.

MCAT Tutoring review by Fouad in Cedar Park, TX
For this session, we reviewed a chapter in the review book covering solutions. We went over the concept of electrolytes and different units of measurement of concentration such as molarity and molality. We also reviewed some of the solubility rules of common polyatomic ions and the solubility rules of different phases when mixed and their solubilities at different temperatures. He will be doing extra practice in his practice books and we will also be setting up a schedule for him to follow in order to help him achieve his goal in a timely manner.

MCAT Tutoring review by Maxwell in Cedar Park, TX
We went over human physiology topics today. The student said she wasn't familiar with the reproduction system, the digestive system, or the immune system, so we focused on those. We briefly went over her strong suits-- the nervous system and the muscular system. She answered all of the questions with ease and did a great job!
