Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Tonight, the student and I worked on pre-calculus, chemistry and language arts. We spent around 30 minutes on each subject. I continue to be impressed with his work and understanding of math."
"We studied for her Chapter 3 test and worked on practice problems. Covered topics: Avogadro's number calculations Nuclide symbols and atomic mass Density conversions Atomic Theories The student was able to set up each problem and make a plan on how to solve."
"The student has a Math test Thursday, but was more concerned with her Chemistry test tomorrow, so we spent all the time on the study guide, which was a chapter review. The math portion focused on how to generate the average atomic mass found at the bottom of each box of each element in the periodic table. She would take percentages of the occurrence of certain isotopes of an element in nature and generate their average mass. This helped her to understand atomic number and its relation to the number of protons and electrons in each element. It also helped her to understand how to generate the atomic mass from the number of neutrons, or vice versa. She was also responsible for a bit of history regarding the different models of the atoms and who was responsible for generating them. I helped her to understand what the quantum model of the atom means and how it came about."
