Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is an extremely intelligent young man. The only times he slipped up were when he rushed too quickly through problems. If he takes his time and double-checks his work, he should have zero issues with the material whatsoever"
"The student is doing extremely well in our sessions. She does well with laws and rules of exponents and showed proficiency while we reviewed those concepts. We also discussed finding zeroes and domains of fraction functions. This was essentially a review of factoring, which she did well, and we worked through the confusion revolving around finding the zeroes and the domains."
"The student is doing so well with the computation this year. She should have her last quiz with her next week so that we can go over it. Also, if she has this week's quiz back by then, I'd like to go over anything she missed."
"The student is doing very well in her calculus class. She missed one day in math, and apparently a lot was covered that day, but she nevertheless understands how to derive transcendental functions and apply implicit differentiation. I was able to show her a step (factoring out the dy/ dx term) that made her work more comprehensible, and that one step seemed to solidify things for her. We practiced a transcendental function, and she commented that it seemed easy. I mentioned that, in general, things would continue to be easy for her, just different and with more numerous applications of the same rules and strategies she has already learned."
"The student is doing well in her course and is trying for an A. We managed to go over 3 questions for her practice exam involving a moving particle (position, velocity, and acceleration functions), finding volume (disk vs. shell method), and function averages."
"The student is finishing his chapter on matrix methods for solving systems of ODEs. We reviewed the general outline of the problem. He had to find eigenvalues/eigenvectors then use initial conditions to find the undetermined coefficients. There's a lot of algebra that he's actually handling pretty well."
