How can Math tutoring help you succeed?

Skill in mathematics is vital to success in school and to potentially earning a high score on college entrance exams, but many students struggle with some aspects of math. Let us find you a tutor in Round Rock, TX, who will strive to ensure your child understands math by keeping them actively engaged in the educational process.

If your child masters basic math concepts in elementary school and middle school, this skill will pay off in many ways. Advanced math courses assume understanding of basic concepts and operations, like order of operations and subtraction. An expert tutor can try to see that your child masters those concepts. A working knowledge of geometry pays off in calculus, algebra, and trigonometry classes too. The Texas STAAR academic tests for grades 4 through 8 assesses the same math skills your child could need later for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Math tutoring can be a critical part of test preparation too.

Math Tutoring review by Yush in Round Rock, TX
We went over chapter 5 (experiments & data) material today in preparation for an upcoming test. First I gave a general overview of the chapter focusing on the vocabulary. I paused at a few key terms for further emphasis and clarification (i.e. cluster vs. stratified). Then we dived into solving multiple choice questions and a modified free response (drawing experimental designs). For additional preparation I have provided the student with additional practice material to use over the weekend before her test.

Math Tutoring review by Crystal in Round Rock, TX
Last week, we worked on order of operations; we went through homework problems and I did encounter some mistakes. I explained the concept to the student and how you should work in order from left to right. I explained to him multiplication/division are on the same level as well as addition/subtraction, it's just a matter of what comes first among the two. In addition, we also worked on evaluation expressions with given values and explained to him the importance of plugging the giving values in first, then working out the problem. We did several practice sets from his textbook as well as mine.

Math Tutoring review by Justyn in Round Rock, TX
Today we made corrections to the problems on an older math exam. The problems he got wrong were in converting fractions to decimals and percents, multiplying and dividing decimals, and adding improper fractions. We worked on the problems together and he understood the concepts for the most part and just made minor mistakes. We then reviewed his English notes on "different types of sentences", which he will be quizzed on tomorrow. I gave him a 6 problem math review to work on before I left on the concepts he got wrong on the quiz. He got all 6 right.

Math Tutoring review by Yongqing in Round Rock, TX
We worked on the student's test review package involving fundamental theorems of calculus. He did good in general, except with the applications of 2nd fundamental theorem of calculus. But he understood the material after some explanations. We also worked on several true/false questions in the whole chapter that would show up in his test. We reviewed some tricky facts in the process, most of which he already knew or could understand immediately after I gave them out.
