Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered nomenclature for various compounds: metals with nonmetals, as well as 2 non-metals, and polyatomic compounds. I advised him to go back over the homework just to make sure he understands. After going over it a few times he seemed to remember the steps to name them."
"The student and I covered test preparation for Friday's test: exothermic and endothermic reactions, predicting products, and balancing equations. He understands combustion reactions."
"Today we reviewed the topics that will be on the student's test tomorrow. These included the problem types from her quiz last week: Solubility rules and equations, Redox equations, and voltaic cells, as well as balancing redox equations, molarity/solution chemistry, and the DG = -nRT equation. The student was very good with balancing redox reactions in acidic and basic solutions. She is also very good with the concepts behind the voltaic cell. We did many molarity and solutions practice problems and balancing equations problems."
"The student is impressing me with his ability to pick things up extremely fast. We actually finished the session 20 min early. I helped him prepare for his test on 10/9. I think he is very prepared and have no doubt that he will make a 100 like he did on his quiz. I went over possible future materials so he can be prepared when it comes up in class."
"We worked on homework packets and reviewed for the student's test, such topics: Orbital diagrams Electromagnetic radiation + theories Electron configurations She had a good grasp of most of the subject matter."
"This was our first session working together and it went very well. She worked on and completed her homework assignment. The student understood the materials and my explanation of how to go about solving the equations."
