Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went through his midterm review packet, and tried to catch up on some key concepts that he was unsure about in the initial chapters. I told him to pay special attention to units, and to ask his teacher what tools he would have available while taking the test (i.e. solubility chart, list of polyatomic ions w/ charges). I told him that if extra help is needed during the week before the test, please let me know."
"Worked with the student on some more of his vocabulary and math subjects. Also helped re-organize his binder so that he would be well prepared for bringing papers home. I think the organization will help. Good session."
"We went over English grammar(pronouns, antecedents), Romeo and Juliet review, and Spanish verbs and vocabulary (concerning travel). We also created notebooks specifically for tutoring that will be organized and neat so that the student may acquire better organizational skills."
"Worked through Biology reading worksheet on Photosynthesis, light dependent vs independent, Calvin cycle, electron transport chain, etc. Completed chemotography lab write up. Reviewed conjugating -ar verbs in Spanish."
"Today we worked on identifying nouns, verbs, and adjectives. The student read words on a worksheet, then re-read them and identified the part of speech. He colored the words red for nouns, yellow for adjectives, and green for verbs. We also worked on identifying word pairs as synonyms or antonyms. This helped with his vocabulary and both topics are second graded objectives. We finished the session by reading a reading passage, level J. He keeps improving his fluency with each session."
"The student did one of her quizzes for an extra credit portion of her exam. The quiz covered bonds, interest rates, and other items from chapters 8-10. We also went over some of her cash flow items from chapter 11."
