Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed homework that covered polynomial functions, adding and subtracting polynomials, multiplying binomial and polynomial functions, leading term, degree of a function, and end behavior of a function."
"We reviewed for the student's exam. We went over net force, the free body diagram, tension, friction, and the vector sum of all the forces acting on an object. We reviewed the equations that are essential to solving these types of problems and when he needs to use each. We went over past homework problems as well as new ones that he had not done before. We also did a few mixed problems that combined concepts from various sections and chapters. He was engaged and attentive during the session."
"Today we covered genetics. We spent much of the session on chi-squared probability calculations and on calculating genetic probabilities without Punnett squares. We also went over linkage and gene mapping, sex-linked inheritance, co- and incomplete dominance, and non-nuclear inheritance."
"Review for the final, HNMR CNMR, IR, and how to figure out structures from the data, drawing the mechanisms for acyl substitution, transesterification, electrophilic addition to benzene, adding protective groups to a ketone, exam advice."
"Today, the student and I went over a problem set that covered various reactions, including dienes and dienophiles, 1, 2 and 1, 4 addition, thermodynamic and kinetic reactions, and other topics from Chapter 14. We worked step-by-step through the problems together."
"Discussed resonance and electron pair localization. Focused on molecular structures that lead to resonance and arrow drawing. Also discussed how to determine which resonance structures influence the hybrid structure more strongly."
