Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student did a great job in learning. We did lowercase alphabet writing, letters, sounds, same and different, and early literacy reading. He was fully attentive and participating in the activities."
"Tonight, we worked on the student's math and science hw. The math was focused on the slope intercept form. We worked on writing slope intercept form equations, solving for slope, and finding what the slope would be between two points when given their coordinated pairs. After math, we worked on science. Her science hw covered waves."
"We worked on corrections for a math test on module 4, specifically covering ratios. We reviewed his agenda to ensure that all due dates for this coming week were written down and noted. Discussed grades in all classes thus far and told the student to think about which classes he wanted to begin focusing on most."
"In our first full lesson together, the student and I discussed an article about the recent Olympic swimmers scandal, including new vocabulary from the article. We then did a pronunciation assessment and determined her specific pronunciation weaknesses. Finally, we began our review of English grammar, starting with present simple and present continuous. She will have a variety of homework assignments for our next lesson."
"Today we did more work around 3D figures. The student built pyramids and prisms out of paper. This helped him really understand what faces, edges, and vertices are. He did several worksheets on these topics, and did really well with it. He had done his assigned worksheets from last session, and did very well with them. We also worked on filling in a multiplication table. He is able to find patterns pretty easily."
"Today's session went well. We added new words from the second grade word list for our flashcards, and reviewed the first grade list. In math, we continued practicing double-digit subtraction. We also worked on sentence writing and leveled reading books at levels D and E."
