Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we did a review of her take home practice exam. It included Atwood machines and inclined planes, and also included centripetal force. The session went very well."
"We covered work, kinetic, and potential energy. We're getting ahead on material about to be covered in class."
"Today we reviewed topics for the student's upcoming exam. Kinematics and Newton's Laws were our main focus. He truly understands the material very well and should do well on exam. Our main focus is to understand what the problem is asking before trying to solve it."
"Today, the student and I went over work, energy, and power. These are all concepts that were introduced in our last session. We used her textbook to review what these concepts are defined as. Then, we made a list of all the important equations relating to work, energy, force, and power. She did well with taking these new equations and layering them on top of concepts from previous chapters. Next session will likely be a longer session, in which we will cover momentum and collisions."
"Today, we covered Lenz's law and its application in magnetic levitation. We studied the fundamentals of levitation and covered relevant topics. Next, we solved problems 1, 2, and 3 in Unit: 3 Phys under the topic 'force on moving charges.' Finally, we solved problems 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, and 2e in Unit:3 old exam under 'Quantitative.'"
"Today, we covered the basics of physics. We talked about significant digits, scientific notation, quantities, scalars, and vectors. The student performed well in tackling the problems from these areas, and we developed further some of his intuitions about scalars and vectors. In the next session, we plan to cover problems and finally put this conceptual development to the test."
