Markham, IL German tutoring
In our session today we practiced the student's presentation that he has coming up. We worked on the project last session so in this session we reviewed/finalized everything. He gave his presentation many times so that he can be prepared. I wanted to take the time for him to recite it multiple times so that he is comfortable with what he has say. He also was able to practice his pronunciation and we focused on any words that were giving him trouble. He wrote out his presentation on note cards as well. He needs to work on eye contact, so I asked his father to sit with us to hear his presentation. In our session I taught him how to show possession and we did some exercises. Then we briefly reviewed comparatives, but we will continue reviewing in our next session. Overall our session was productive and he is ready for his presentation. I am eager to hear how he does.

Markham, IL German tutoring
The student is starting at a very basic level, so we went over the alphabet and pronunciation in particular. We kept this lesson in mind as we reviewed the numbers 1 through 20. He basically knew these, but his memory was foggy on some of them. I quizzed him on pronunciation of letters and numbers after we'd gone over all of them. We reviewed a couple of key phrases (good morning, what is your name, my name is) as well. I recorded all pronunciations on the student's phone. So far, he seems to be responding well! I reminded him that although learning grammar can be boring in school, when you are able to understand and speak a foreign language it's exciting. The only way to get to that point is to practice and study consistently.
