Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished up his review sheet. He did very well on the solving problems, but he was struggling with graphing problems. He should do well on the test; he doesn't seem to be having a hard time with most of the problems."
"We focused on arithmetic and geometric sequences, in particular finding the ratio between terms and finding missing terms in the sequences. The student mentioned that she doesn't test well and has a quiz on Wednesday. We worked on preparing her for this quiz."
"We focused on domain and range, especially with respect to asymptotic functions. We also spent some of our time starting in on 1d motion and gravity. "
"We had a 1 hour lesson and discussed characteristics of functions, composite functions, inverse functions and general behaviors, and shapes of nonlinear (concave or "curvy") functions like exponential growth and decay and polynomials. The student was very pleasant to work with and very willing to apply all we were going over and was able to apply the content to other problems."
"We had a session on Transformation of function. The session started with the KWL sheet to know the start and end point. The session proceeds to the concept of function and rules of the transformation using examples. The method adopted was analyzing the points on the graph and derived the rules of transformation. We discussed the questions and shared two worksheets to get more practice."
"We mostly worked on section 2.8 of her textbook covering compound or rational expression inequalities. She struggled on making sure the signs on the corresponding sign chart was accurate. Also, she needed help with absolute value inequalities. She showed due diligence in her work. I gave her two or three complex inequalities to practice on. She did both and we completed her assigned worksheet. No grades or scores that I've seen or already reported in a prior feedback."
