Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we focused on the normal distribution and the standard normal distribution. I demonstrated how to find probabilities between two Z scores, above and below a particular Z, and applying this to instances that involve non-standard normal distributions. She is a very fast learner and seems to grasp concepts very fast. She will contact me in the next few days after she covers additional material."
"Today the student and I worked on her Statistics packets for her Statistics class. We worked on such topics as: box and whisker plots, and the usage of mean, median, and mode. The student did really well with the material, she just needs to practice box and whisker plots."
"Today we covered frequencies/relative frequencies as how they are used in order to draw histograms and bar plots. We were able to finish his homework and some additional practice problems. He understood everything."
"Today we covered hypothesis verification for left, right, and two-tailed statistical studies. We also covered examples of p-value verification. The student is showing increased acuity with the theoretical side of statistics, and only seems to trip up anymore on arithmetical error introduction (and don't we all?)."
"Today we covered linear correlation coefficients and how to do the calculations. We created some instructions and step by step work for examples to use. We also created a list of questions for the student for how to focus when studying."
"Today we covered linear regression lines. We went over how to input the information in the calculator to get our linear equation in the form Y= a+bx. Afterwards, we went over what A and B meant in respect to the data in each question. In this section, the student just needed guidance on understanding the values meant in regards to the data. The student had a positive attitude toward the material that was reviewed. There are no concerns from this sessions and the student left the session understanding the material relatively quick."
