Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over some problems on the exam sheet covering applications of derivatives involving optimization and rate of change. I made sure that each process of answering the problem was explained as thoroughly as possible. The student asked questions when he felt it was necessary to ask them, and it was an overall good session."
"We went over the basics of integration, including the rectangle midpoint approximation method and the Riemann Sum method. We talked about the theory of the methods and did a few basic integration problems."
"We went over the student's homework on the area between two curves, integrating both over x and y and solving for integration limits. The student needs to review the unit circle to integrals involving trigonometric functions."
"We went over the student's homework, which focused on linear approximations. Once she understood how to use the formula, she was able to do most of the work on her own. She also had a chemistry review sheet to work on, so she did that as well. Generally, she understood how to do most of the problems, but there were a few more complex concepts that she needed some guidance with."
"We went over the student's previous exam and worked through all of the problems. It seemed to really benefit him to go through his mistakes, and most of them were fairly simple, so I think that he learned from them. In addition, we started his final exam review, which helped to concrete some concepts from early in the semester. I suggested that he go over everything we did today later tonight so that it will stick with him; he tends to do really well and remember the concepts during our session but them forget then long-term. Constantly reviewing and reaffirming the knowledge should help solve this problem."
"We went over the Unit 1 final review problems really quickly, and we finished 35 problems. We still have quite a lot left, but we will try to have more done by the next session in order to help ready the student for the final exam."
