Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The concepts we covered were: The upper & lower bound tests, Descartes' Rule of Signs, Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, Linear Factorization Theorem, finding the zeroes of polynomials when one zero is known, rational functions, and vertical & horizontal asymptotes."
"The student and I began the session with a review of his Math work. Next, we worked on his social studies project of writing a review of on the campaign comparing political figures. Lastly, we organized and prepared his folder and assignments for the week."
"The student and I completed his math homework regarding exponent notation and also discussed some of his difficulties with fractional word problems. The student did very well with the homework and only had slight difficulty regarding negative exponents."
"The student and I completed several homework assignments which her dad had e-mailed to me last night. These assignments covered fan cost index, Venn diagrams, number of people passing in a parade, estimation of people able to fit on a certain square footage, and probability. We did not complete the last worksheet on probability. She has time now to complete her homework and turn it in when she finishes, so hopefully all of these missing assignments will be turned in tomorrow. She has already had a test on most of these concepts. However she has not gotten the test back yet."
"The student and I completed the practice test for Chapter 8 and continued to work on the last section in Chapter 9. For the practice test, we worked on simplifying radicals, adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing radicals, rationalizing the denominator, fraction exponents, negative exponents, and rewriting exponents in radical form and vice versa. He did very well on the problems. For Chapter 9, we worked on using the quadratic formula."
"The student and I continued covering grade equivalent Geometry. He is on the right track. He is becoming more dedicated and involved with each session. He is beginning to actively take responsibility for his actions and is doing whatever he needs to get on track. I am very proud of this young man! I left him with responsibilities to organize for our next session."
