Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on interior angles of a rectangle, triangle min/max, and area/perimeter of quadrilaterals and circles. I think he is pretty confident about the work now. I left when we finished with the material."
"Chemistry review of nomenclature and chemical equations through at least 20 practice problems. This included review of charges and polyatomic ions or formula symbols and compounds. We also reviewed online practice for math review and grade supplementation. Student struggled initially with combustion problems but was able to apply key steps through repetition."
"Went over the Taylor series. The student was getting a little confused about what was being asked in his problems and how to go about solving them. I went over his questions in detail and broke it down so that he could figure out what form of induction would be needed. He had no problem handling the induction once he knew the direction to take. We went over more problems to make sure he had an understanding of the material. He informed that he passed his last test and is doing much better in the class. He seems to be more confident in his abilities."
"We continued where we left off last week in the middle of a practice exam review. Problems involved algebra, geometry, and statistics. There were even a few pre-calculus concepts that involved the algebra aspects of the type of problem. The student said she felt good about the material and plans to take the placement test in about a week."
"We covered correlation and linear regression. The student had several HW problems and she worked through them as we discussed the material. She has a strong understanding of the material and just needed some guidance through the problems."
"Started going over the material for the whole class preparing for the final exam in a week. Went over point and interval estimates, distributions, graphs, pros and cons of different measures of central tendency and variability. Started looking at statistical testing. Session was similar to the first one with the student grasping the concepts fast once they are explained in a systematic clear way."
