Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked on an assignment about recursive and iterative functions. We discussed strategies for finding the recursive formula for a series of data. We also discussed how recursive formulas can be used to generate fractal dimensions."
"Today we covered trigonometry. The student did really well making her own problems to memorize the functions. Then we worked on organization. She has two folders for her A and B days to write whether or not she finished and put everything away."
"Great session! We reviewed chapter 9 in greater detail with practice problems and emphasized certain points/ identified what needs to be memorized before tomorrow's test. The student's picking things up quite quickly in this section which is great."
"The student and I covered various topics from altitudes, medians, right triangles, similar triangles, finding segments with given information from all of those different parts of triangles, using midpoint, distance, and slope formula to extend out into locus properties."
"I met the student for the first time. She was preparing for a quiz on Thursday on similar shapes. We reviewed some worksheets the teacher had given her for the first sections of the material for the quiz. She had a firm grasp of the material. We moved on to the last two sections of the material for the quiz. After reviewing parallel and perpendicular lines, she was able to apply those theorems to similar triangles, and she learned the AA postulate and SAS and SSS theorems of similar triangles. We also worked on application problems for those theorems."
"Today we covered angle bisectors and perpendicular bisectors for triangles. The student seems to have a strong grasp of the material, but was rusty on information that we had covered a while ago. After a quick review, though, it came back to her. Overall, she did well."
