How can a tutor assist you in conquering GMAT?

Students pursuing a graduate level business degree may have to take the Graduate Management Admission Test for admittance into certain programs. The GMAT is made up of four sections: verbal, quantitative, integrated reasoning, and analytical writing. The exam takes three-and-a-half hours. This may be an immense challenge for many students, but with the help of a personal tutor, it can be less overwhelming. Varsity Tutors' educational directors can assist you in locating Los Angeles, California, GMAT tutoring.

If you are attending college for a business or management degree, your course list is likely set out for you. However, if your college does not require you to take economics or statistics, you will want to work on these sections, as the GMAT will tests your knowledge in these areas. If you haven't taken these courses, the GMAT could be challenging for you. Working with a GMAT tutor in Los Angeles can be a good way to work on these subjects. Your tutor could go over statistics and economics concepts that are frequently tested on the exam with you. If you think you have a general knowledge of the exam topics, your tutor may give you a practice test to determine how well you actually know the information. This can allow the tutor to get an idea of the information that you are the most familiar with and decide how to go about filling in your knowledge gaps.

This was our first session and we spent some time understanding the student's goals, strengths and gaps. He is good with basics and wanted to work on exam anxiety. We also identified that he needs to be mindful of timing during the math section. We revisited errors from his old exam and jointly solved them while I was able to give him specific tips on how to proceed faster in some instances. We agreed to meet on 6/23 after he takes a practice test on 6/22.

We started our session by going over the assigned questions that he had trouble with in the problem solving section. These questions involved fractions, decimals, percentages, and exponents. I encouraged him to break down the longer, more confusing problems into manageable pieces that he can translate into numbers and equations. We moved to the assigned questions in the sentence correction and Critical Reading sections. He answered the majority of these questions correctly. For our next tutoring session, he will complete practice questions in the problem solving and data sufficiency sections of the guide.
