We wrote his lab report for the Newton's Law experiment. He was not understanding the experiment very well at the beginning and is not quite familiar with how such a report should be written. We started by analyzing the physical concepts related and calculated the theoretical expectations. He had some difficulties here which I shall focus on the next time we meet. We then went on calculate the experimental value, in which he had no problems. I also helped him structure the reports, and helped him write the contents for it, and asked him to replay how we wrote them for a review. Usually the reports are difficult to write well, and we should have more chances to practice on that.

During our second session, we comprehensively reviewed a test that the student had taken a couple days before. He had little trouble understanding the rudimentary concepts behind topics like force, momentum, and acceleration. We went through each problem of the test step by step to make sure that the student understood what was happening. When I introduced the appropriate equation and reminded him what each variable was, he was able to plug the values and come up with the right answer.
