Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the next study guide for the student's graduate statistics course. Topics included standard process control and regression analysis. She will have more information on her final project the next time we meet. No concerns to note."
"In today's session we covered almost the entire review sheet for the upcoming test that the student had from her instructor. We solved problems involving volumes and moments of inertia using triple integrals, in rectangular and cylindrical coordinates. We also used the general change of variables for the double integral."
"In this last session before the student's spring break, she and I did more practice with proportions. When finished, we moved onto doing some reading from her history textbook. We did the reading together, and practiced annotations. We also reviewed for her English pop quiz on The Giver, reviewing community rules in the book and talking about the intention of each rule for the individual and for the community. Incorporating recent feedback, she focused on explaining her answers thoroughly."
"First we discussed what the student is currently learning in Math. Then we went over the pre-algebra test she took online. We reviewed and reworked all of the problems that she missed. Today we solved problems that included: integers, solving for x and y, multiplying fractions, and exponents. We talked about a few other things that she has learned so far this year, such as; graphing, plotting, finding the slope, and the different quadrants. This session went great!"
"The student stayed well engaged today. We worked on "Shapes in Space" to identify (name) polygons and then counted faces, edges, and vertices. The student got the hang of this pretty well. To help reinforce vertices, edges, faces we practiced drawing cubes and pyramids on a whiteboard and counted these. We practiced multiplication facts and then practiced elapsed time. We will continue to practice time changes involving minutes and time word problems."
"The student and I worked on a practice Paper 2 test his teacher had handed out. He was getting consistently correct answers!"
