"Nice job this week, keep up the good work! Be aware of the beats and beginning your playing with the beat (on the downbeats), (always think in your head 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &). When practicing, pay special attention to metronome beats - ALWAYS making sure you are playing WITH the metronome - EVEN when you make a mistake - STOP - go back and start again WITH the metronome (this is very important)."
"Today we focused primarily on math, specifically geometry. She grasped explanations well, even on problems that she had previously missed. She demonstrated the strongest grasp of the concepts that I've seen so far. She will continue to practice over Thanksgiving Break as well as review/learn vocabulary and finish the draft of her essay for college entry."
"Student didn't have any homework for the weekend. I showed him how the Pythagorean theorem works and then gave him practice problems on triangles, quadrilaterals, and finding the distance between a point and a line."
"The student and I quickly reviewed key points from ch.1-4, then started working through ch.5. He has retained a lot of information and is catching on to the new concepts quickly! We also discussed scheduling."
"Today's session we began by discussing various high schools and how the student will rank them on her answer sheet. Our test prep consisted primarily of logical reasoning problems. We worked specifically on code games and sequencing questions, as those were the ones she was getting incorrect on a practice test she took over the weekend. We also worked on a science based reading passage. Throughout the session we continually discussed strategies for maintaining focus as well as time management on test day."
