We discussed performance on the practice writing exam and looked at errors made in other practice test sections. I have had the student do a practice SAT over the course of the last 2 weeks. The results indicate that he has raised his score 100-120 in all categories which is great news! He will work on vocab studying, grammar strategies and more practice tests.

We reviewed math facts again, and worked on some more difficult multiplication problems. We went over solving double digits multiplication, using both methods. I asked her to continue trying the online math games to reinforce her math facts. Next we worked on 3 fourth grade reading assessments. She did fabulous on the comprehension questions! She struggled with a few vocabulary words, which we went over. I asked her to check at least one book out from the library and practice reading both silently and out loud before our next session. She seems to be making progress both in reading and math!

Today, we worked on reflecting, translation, rotation of points, line segments, and triangles. The student did extremely well on these subjects and just needs to be a little careful with the rotations. Other than that, I am seeing tremendous improvement, which culminated in his excellent score on his past test!

We played games in French today. Student 1 is making some progress. She still surprises me sometimes, using French words I don't remember having taught her. Student 2 is fluent, and just needs to master his vocabulary.

Tutoring review by Kelsy in Lockhart, TX
The student and I reviewed a lot of materials from Chapter 3 that he claims he has never done before. His mom said that he got a 76 on his last test so that is better than before. The student and I worked on linear equations, graphing lines, the different formulas for lines, solving a system of linear equations and determining if an ordered pair is a solution. I left him with 10 problems in his homework packet to work on for next time. He appears to understand the material. When I inspired him by saying these are the last problems if you get them right he did show all his work and get the problems right. I will continue to encourage him to review old material and find a sense of purpose to working on his homework.
