Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I looked into photosynthesis and its similarities to aerobic cellular respiration (ACR). I gave her a picture to draw and some tips on how to prepare for her upcoming final. If you want to ask her to draw the picture of Photosystems II and I, she should be able to do that. Also, copying her notes before her final will also help tremendously."
"In our most recent session, the student and I completed an online exam for her biology course that was primarily testing her knowledge of photosynthesis as well as the anatomy and physiology of plants. The student certainly understood the material very well."
"During today's session, we split our time approximately evenly between the remaining points on her teacher's study guide for the evolution section of the course, specifically going over (intra- and inter-) sexual selection, male dominance patterns, mate choice, etc., as well as briefly covering fossilization processes, fossil record and radio dating. We spent the second part of the session reviewing parts of the ecology section, namely patterns of interaction (mutualism, commensalism, parasitism / predation), top and bottom down ecological control, trophic cascades, population density-dependent processes, and predator-prey dynamics; we also talked about life patterns, survivorship curves and r- vs. K-selection, and fundamental vs. realized niches."
