Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed her homework over two column proofs; we reviewed isosceles triangles, the Isosceles Triangle Theorem, Angle-Side-Angle, Angle-Angle-Side, Side-Angle-Angle, Corresponding Angle Theorem, Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent"
"We worked on his geometry homework covering theorems and proofs, then we ran through a few that I made up on the spot!"
"The student and I solved problems regarding geometry and solving for the variable within different figures. She seems to understand the concepts."
"We covered geometric construction. The student lacked the proper instruments to make said images, but I made sure he viewed the proper steps. I reviewed the steps to make sure he had an understanding, then I had him copy them down so he can refer to them later. We ended the session making some progress on a project due in December."
"The student and I worked on trigonometry. We looked over her quiz and went over her incorrect answers. For the rest of the time, we went over word problems involving trigonometry. Some of the trouble she was having had to do with not adequately going over the math in lecture format, which she prefers. We went over how to solve the trigonometric relationships, as well as some physics concepts such as distance and velocity."
"The student and I worked on symbolic logic, angle theorems and postulates, two column proofs, and converting to slope intercept form. We reviewed his most recent test and started on his homework for the next chapter. He understood the application of the material. This was my first session with him, and I was looking to see which areas caused him the most trouble and what tactics are most effective in helping him to understand the material. Mnemonic devices seem to help him with remembering information, and I suggested that he go through the glossary section of his textbook to look up any words that he does not understand. I plan to meet with him again this week to review before his test on Friday."
