Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was my first session with this student. He said he did well on his first exam and has one tomorrow. He has two chapters that were going to be tested and he needed help with rates of reactions. We went over first order and second order reactions and how to determine them. We also looked at how the concentration changes and stays constant and how to determine the rate of reaction from that. We practiced some problems and he felt better about them once we completed them. We will meet next Wednesday and Thursday and cover the next two chapters that will be on his following test. He seems to complicate his problems and I believe he needs more practice in order to understand the concepts. We will work on that together."
"The student and I talked about single and double slit experiments. We began by talking about the wave nature of light and constructive and destructive interference. We started by looking at waves on a string and how they interfere. We said that light does the same thing. When light interferes constructively, you get a bright spot. When it interferes negatively, then you get no light at all, or a dark spot. Then we did homework problems on these two topics which led us to the end of our session."
"Today the student and I reviewed some Biology for her exam, which has been moved to Tuesday. We then started covering epoxides, the next topic in her Organic Chemistry class."
