Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked on homework from the textbook that covered the six trigonometric ratios of various right triangles, finding the remaining trig ratios given one, finding a trig ratio given a different trig ratio of the same triangle. When she finished her algebra 2/ trig homework, we worked on chemistry homework covering solubility equilibrium, how it is effected by reducing/ increasing the reactants or a product, whether the equilibrium moves left/ right."
"Today we reviewed some conic sections as well as some chemistry (calculation of pH from concentration). The student has exams coming up in both subjects and is fairly confident in his abilities at this point but values the review."
"The student and I spent most of our time working on Algebra 2 with more quadratics. This time we had to do a couple of word problems, which are always more of a struggle for her, but with prompting she was able to get through it. She definitely over thinks them sometimes, but again, with practice she can definitely get the hang of it. Then we went over heat of formation in Chemistry because her teacher didn't quite get to it during class. This is a simple formula involving basic math of multiplying, adding, and subtracting, and she was able to understand it easily."
"We covered solving problems using tables as well as multiplication and division problems. The student had a positive attitude when working with the material. I told the student to print out a multiplication chart and to practice filling it in so that she can get better at her multiplication table. The student mostly wanted help on making tables for word problems, but she did a really good job with all the material and got every question right. I gave her multiplication and division strategies and taught her about inverse operations. She is definitely getting faster at her multiplication and division and she is doing an excellent job!"
"Today we covered translation of scientific notation numbers into ordinary , translation from ordinary to scientific notation , division of numbers expressed in scientific notation , and multiplication and addition of these. We also solved multiple orders of magnitude problems."
"Good session. We're just getting off the ground with math analysis this semester. We covered odd/ even functions, graphing piecewise functions, a couple of real-world word problems. The student did well. Nice work!"
