Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student told me he is ready to schedule his college placement test. We went over his homework on combining like terms, then worked on the college-provided practice test for Prealgebra. We finished going over the first page. For homework, he is going to copy his notebook notes onto index cards for easier studying. I will bring worksheets on topics from the Prealgebra test to work on next session. His attitude was awesome, as usual!"
"This is my final session with the student, his final is today. We spent this session working on his study sheets that he can take into the exam. We went through every section of each chapter and found relevant formulas and concepts, and he condensed them onto his study sheets."
"The student and I prepared for her big Chapter 10 test coming up. She went to her teacher and got some great help as well as some tips on what to study. We focused on the review assignment today. We reviewed a little notation and specifically reviewed word problems. She understands the concept of the problems. We worked on drawing pictures of the graph and using our reasoning to help fill in the notation. She seemed to benefit from the visual component. We continue to work on attention to detail and double checking our work."
"What concepts did you cover specifically? Algebra I: Factoring, Right Triangles, Square Roots, and Linear Equations. What was the student's attitude toward the material that was reviewed? Excellent."
"We had covered college algebra learning materials. We learned to solve rational and radical expressions. The student just needs to work on her confidence. The student is a smart, quick learner. I gave her a problem to solve for homework. Going forward, we will be utilizing the college placement test practice provided by her college to ensure her placement for College Math Level 3."
"Today we covered the concepts from chapter 6, which focused heavily on inequalities. He did really well with most of the concepts, but there were a few that he struggled with a little. It was mostly the graphing/plotting that threw him off, so we went over that and I sent him a few practice worksheets to complete before our session on Wednesday."
