Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed some notes on functions and their inverses. We then looked at some of her problems on a worksheet. She has received her Precalculus text today, and we will use the text in future tutoring sessions. She was having some difficulty remembering all the properties of the inverse of a given function. Going over the section in the textbook helped, as did reviewing some examples problems. We also went over some odd problems at the end of the section in the text. That further clarified some of the inverse function properties."
"The student and I reviewed unit circles and its components - radian and degree conversions, co-terminal angles, right-angle triangles - as well as trigonometric identities. She was very attentive to the tutoring done and also participated in solving the practice problems she provided."
"The student and I went over business linear relationships through linear equations, difference quotients, and we also got into some quadratic equations and their graphs. I made legible notes, since some of the material from this session was rather difficult."
"The student and I went over graphing trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions. We spent time identifying inverse trigonometric functions and their application. We also reviewed vertical and horizontal shifts of trigonometric functions. She did a great job. "
"The student and I went over her current homework assignment on translations of graphs. We discussed all of the various different rules that apply to changes of an equation. There is quite a bit of new material for her. I can see that she is making progress and becoming a little more comfortable with the material and will continue to improve!"
"The student and I went over his homework, which covered quadratic polynomials and function domains. He took a picture of notes I wrote down regarding how to solve quadratic equations. He was a willing listener and learner. He let me know he was able to understand my explanations. I am looking forward to the next session!"
