Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I met today and went through a bunch of exponential and logarithm function problems. Her understanding of log bases is really strong! She did need some help with visualization, plotting, and some detail work from her HW packets, but everything went well in the end. We'll be sure to get enough review work in before finals."
"The student and I met with her project group to work on their MATLAB research project. Her project involves using linear algebra to clarify images. The math used is within the scope of her lecture, but the MATLAB programming is not covered. I was able to help them get the active folder setup with some pre-programed m files, and clarify the approach to the project."
"The student and I mostly covered probability in this session. I think conditional probability is the hardest for her, but she was definitely starting to get the hang of it by the end of the session. We also talked about PCR to help clarify her bio homework."
"The student and I picked up where we left off and continued her review problems. I had reviewed several of the questions ahead of time and had a better understanding and, therefore, could provide her with more help. She has a good grasp on the questions, and her main questions are when to use what formula. We are both going to review the remaining questions and have another session in a couple of days."
"The student and I practiced exponents. We reviewed exponent rules and went over his homework for the week. We also prepared for his upcoming test on exponents and I made some extra practice problems in his areas of weakness."
"The student and I practiced factoring, the fundamental theorem of algebra, synthetic division, and conjugate imaginary numbers. She will do the practice questions to solidify the concepts in her mind, so she will be able to solve the problems faster."
